Metals X Limited is a diversified group exploring and developing metals and minerals in Australia. It is Australia’s largest tin producer and holds a pipeline of assets from exploration to production, including gold development projects in Western Australia and the Northern Territory and the world-class Wingellina Nickel Project.
The Wingellina Project is one of the largest undeveloped nickeliferous ‘pure oxide’ limonite accumulations in the world.
A landmark mining agreement for the Wingellina project was signed on 15 July 2010 with the Traditional Owners of the Yarnangu Ngaanyatjarra Lands through their representative bodies. The agreement provides the right to mine and develop infrastructure within the agreement area subject to regulatory approvals and for the grant of a mining lease.
The relationship between NG Media and Metals X has strengthened over time to become not only mutually beneficial, but also benefitting the local communities surrounding the two organisations.
Metals X support of festivals such as the Ngaanyatjarra Lands Festival has been invaluable over the last two years, providing financial contributions to ensure it goes ahead and producing printed t-shirts for Ng Media staff to wear when working at festivals. They have also ensured we are able to stage Friday night concerts at the annual Blackstone Festival. They support our work with Elders and local Yarnangu, and have partnered with us in providing accommodation where necessary.
Running from the 6th to the 12th of May, the Blackstone Festival is an annual celebration of Lands Culture.
Metals X contribution allowed NG Media to once again stage the Friday Night concert at the festival.
