At present we have many reels of film being produced to a standard which is acceptable for national TV. Further exciting times are also ahead for our film area since NITV have gone national. NG Media has been invited to submit content to the channel. We therefore have yet another avenue to show our NG Lands stories nationally.
Another huge project currently underway across the Lands is the work being carried out to move forward with the provision of digital television to every house in every community in the NG Lands. The necessary paperwork is being undertaken at present and this will be followed up with the required equipment being ordered in for each community. Qualified installers will be responsible for the fitting of each dish and box into every house. There will be no cost to any householder.
We will be continuing with our aim of providing computer terminals and internet around the communities.
The use of this equipment toward training of Yanangu is our main aim, through a web link up system.
Blackstone Community will be the first focus for 2013 with a contract under way at present to move the demountable building currently at Wingellina across to Blackstone.
The launch of NITV, National Indigenous Television, late last year, means that our NG Lands stories can now be seen all over Australia. Many of our movies are already being aired over this new channel, and the future looks great for many more of our future efforts to also be seen on the country’s televisions.
